Thrympa or Throumpi. Throumpi acts as a digestive aid and is considered ideal for all heavy, hard-to-digest dishes. It has a strong flavour reminiscent of thyme and oregano. It is used as an infusion for sore throat, cough, toothache and mouth sores, and also as a disinfectant for various utensils, thanks to its antibacterial and antimicrobial properties. It is known mainly for its therapeutic properties for the digestive system. It works as a digestive aid, stimulates the appetite, tones the body, and helps in the treatment of diarrhoea, intestinal cramps, colic pains, gastric atony, nervous indigestion, nausea and acidity. Its infusion helps relieve stomach gas, relieves bloating and contributes to good digestion. It is also used as an expectorant. It soothes coughs and is suitable for bronchitis and asthma. It can also be applied externally, as an antiseptic, on wounds and insect bites, as it offers immediate relief. 

The Cretan herbs are gathered by the Τσακαλάκη family in the mountain village of Nyvritos in Crete. The presentation of the herbs is in no way a prescription and is purely informative.
