It is a dark honey made from the honeydew secretions of the oak tree (mainly from the leaves). It has a distinctive aroma and a rich caramel flavour, and it is usually not particularly sweet. There are years when the linden trees bloom at the same time, and then the flavour reaches new heights.
- It is rich in antioxidant properties and contains large amounts of potassium, magnesium, phosphorus, iron and sodium.
